Take Tour of New York’s Shopping District.
New York City is a massive metropolis, jam packed with neighborhoods that all contain hundreds of shops, diners, boutiques, restaurants, and entertainment centers for every visitor to enjoy. Additionally, every inch of Manhattan is filled with culture, and one of the best examples of this is a neighborhood who’s history can be seen throughout its architecture, SoHo.
SoHo has been around for quite some time, however it truly experienced its economic boom during the industrial revolution. During this time many factories located within the neighborhood took it upon themselves to both build and design the cast-iron facades you see today.
These designs where then refurbished by the artists that moved in once manufacturing moved south, kickstarting what was once known as New York City’s art colony. Remnants of this time can still be seen today. SoHo has now become New York City’s fashion district, with many travelers stopping by to check out the many exclusive shops, personal boutiques, and fantastic art galleries available in SoHo.
